How it works

How to make an email QR code

  1. Enter the email address that should receive the messages.
  2. Add a subject so you can sort the replies, for example "Feedback: Table 4".
  3. Download the code and test that it opens your email app.

What an email QR code contains

The code stores a mailto link. Phones open the default email app with your address in the To field and your subject filled in.

mailto:hello@example.com?subject=Feedback%3A%20Table%204

Print and placement

Tips for codes that scan

  • Use a shared inbox like support@ rather than a personal address.
  • Put the context in the subject so you know where each email came from.
  • Pair it with a short line such as "Questions? Scan to email us".

Where people use them

  • Feedback cards
  • Support stickers on devices
  • Job and enquiry posters
  • Event follow-ups

Need to edit it later or count scans?

FAQ

Common questions

Still curious? Drop us a line and a human will get back to you.

Which email app opens?

Whichever app the phone uses for email, such as Gmail, Apple Mail or Outlook.

Will people see my address?

Yes. Anyone who scans sees it in their email app, so use an address you're happy to share.

Does it need internet?

Scanning works offline. Sending the email needs a connection, like any email.
