How to make a WiFi QR code
- Type your network name (SSID) exactly as it appears in your Wi-Fi settings, including capital letters.
- Enter the password and pick the security type. Most home and office routers use WPA or WPA2.
- Download the code, then test it: open your phone camera, scan, and tap Join.
What a WiFi QR code contains
A WiFi QR code holds a short piece of text that phones understand natively: the security type, the network name and the password. iPhones (iOS 11 and later) read it from the Camera app, and most Android phones read it from the camera or Google Lens, then offer to join.

Tips for codes that scan
- Share a guest network, not the one your billing machine or office computers use.
- Network names and passwords are case-sensitive, so copy them exactly.
- If you change the password, the old code stops working. Make and print a new one.
- Put the code where people wait: table tents, reception desks and room cards.
Where people use them
- Cafés and restaurants
- Hotel rooms and homestays
- Offices and co-working spaces
- Clinics and waiting rooms

Common questions
Still curious? Drop us a line and a human will get back to you.
Do people need an app to scan a WiFi QR code?
No. The iPhone camera (iOS 11 and later) and most Android cameras or Google Lens recognise Wi-Fi codes and offer to join the network.
Is my Wi-Fi password safe here?
The code is created entirely in your browser. Your network name and password are never sent to QRius.
Does it work for hidden networks?
Yes. Tick "Hidden network" so phones know to look for a network that doesn't broadcast its name.
Will the code work after I change my password?
No. The password is stored inside the code, so you'll need to make and print a new one.
