How it works

How to add a logo to a QR code

  1. Enter the link or content for your code.
  2. Click "Upload yours" to add your logo, then pick a color with good contrast against white and a module style.
  3. Download the SVG for print or the PNG for screens, and test the code on two phones.

How a logo fits inside a QR code

QR codes carry spare error-correction data, so they still scan when part of them is covered. When you add a logo, QRius switches to the highest level (H, which recovers about 30% of the code) and clears the center, so the logo never sits on top of the data the code needs.

Print and placement

Tips for codes that scan

  • Keep the logo simple and square. Detailed or very wide logos shrink and lose detail.
  • Use a dark color on a light background. Light-on-dark and low-contrast colors fail on many phones.
  • Keep the white border (quiet zone) around the code when you place it in a design.
  • Test with at least two phones before a print run.

Where people use them

  • Packaging and labels
  • Menus and table tents
  • Posters and flyers
  • Business cards

FAQ

Common questions

Still curious? Drop us a line and a human will get back to you.

Will a logo stop my QR code from scanning?

Not if the logo stays small and the error correction is high. QRius uses level H and keeps the logo to about a fifth of the code's width.

What logo file should I upload?

A square PNG or SVG with a transparent or white background works best. Files up to 2 MB are supported.

Can I change the colors?

Yes. Pick a swatch or a custom color. QRius warns you when the contrast is too low to scan reliably.

Is my logo uploaded anywhere?

No. Your logo is added to the code in your browser and never leaves your device.
