How it works

How to make a vCard QR code

  1. Fill in the details you want people to save. A name or company is enough to start.
  2. Keep it short: every extra field makes the code denser, so leave out anything people don't need.
  3. Download the SVG for print, then scan it, tap "Add contact" and check every field.

What a vCard QR code contains

A vCard QR code contains your details in the vCard 3.0 format that phones use for contacts. The iPhone camera and most Android cameras or Google Lens recognise it and offer to create a new contact.

Print and placement

Tips for codes that scan

  • Print business-card codes at least 2 cm wide, with a clear white border.
  • Use the SVG download so the code stays sharp at any print size.
  • Write your number in international format so it works when you travel.
  • If your details change often, a dynamic code can point to an online contact page you can update.

Where people use them

  • Business cards
  • Conference badges
  • Email signatures
  • Reception desks

FAQ

Common questions

Still curious? Drop us a line and a human will get back to you.

Which phones can read a vCard QR code?

iPhones read it from the Camera app, and most Android phones read it through the camera or Google Lens. Both offer to save a new contact.

How much can I put in it?

Name, phone, email, company, job title and website fit comfortably. The more you add, the denser the code, so keep to what people need.

Can I change my details after printing?

Not on a static code. A dynamic code points to a link you can update, so it suits details that change often.

Is my contact data stored anywhere?

No. The code is created in your browser, and nothing you type is sent to QRius.
